If you follow me on Instagram — and really, why wouldn’t you? — you know that I spend way too much time making my dog, Rufus, pose with many of the beauty products sent to me for editorial consideration. While he’s more than happy to play model, I’m sure he’d be even happier if the beauty products were actually treats or toys. And now, thanks to the greatest collaboration in the history of commerce, Glossier and Bark are making Rufus’s (read: my) dreams come true.
If you’re a BarkBox subscriber, you already know that Bark dog toys are among some of the most absurdly adorable available. And if you’re a makeup and skin-care lover, you know that Glossier has become one the most influential and coveted beauty brands on the planet in just five short years. They may not seem like an obvious pairing, but if you’re anything like me — someone who loves very few things more than beauty and dogs — I can’t think of a more delightful collaboration. And once you see the toys in the Glossier x Bark collection, I think you’ll agree.
Bark has designed two plush toys to look just like two of Glossier’s best-selling products, Balm Dotcom and Boy Brow. But wait, you guys — they’re calling the toys Balm Dogcom (modeled above, left, by Houdini) and Toy Brow (modeled above, right, by Frank), because they clearly know I’m a sucker for dorky wordplay. And if the names weren’t cute enough, Toy Brow actually separates into two pieces — a tube and a wand — just like the actual product.
