Earlier this year, Sephora took the handful of skin-care products under its Sephora Collection and grew it into a bigger and even better collection, arguably without the fanfare such an expansion deserves. (It even launched an entire acne system called Clear Skin Days earlier in August.) And now, the beauty-boutique powerhouse has done some more low-key launches, this time with hair products.
In addition to new skin-care and makeup products, August saw Sephora Collection launch four styling products, all with adorable packaging featuring illustrated patterns on white backgrounds. There’s a Dry Shampoo ($12) that works for a wide array of hair types, a Texturizing Spray ($14) to add volume, and frizz-fighting Smoothing Cream ($14). Perhaps the most exciting drop, however, is the Semi-Permanent Hair Color ($12), an ammonia-free formula that comes in three colors — Psychic Pink, Parisian Purple, and Tenacious Teal — and lasts up to 10 washes. And as you can see from the prices (and the cute little Sephora Quality Way-Nice Price sticker), they’re all delightfully affordable.
Sephora’s in-house brand has dabbled in the hair category before. You’ve been able to get Sephora Collection hair ties, tools, and even a small handful of hair-care products like a Peppermint Hair Cleansing Salt Scrub and a Hair Sleeping Mask for quite a while. These new additions, however, have a markedly different packaging design and boldly state “Sephora Hair” on each product, suggesting that it’s an official subline.
And when I say these are low-key launches, I mean almost completely under the radar. On Sephora Collection’s own landing page, the four “shop by category” graphics include icons for makeup, brushes, skin care, and lashes — no mention of hair — and the little “What’s New” scrolly thingy omits the new hair products completely.
But now that you know they exist, you can grab the products at Sephora right now. You’re welcome.
